| Benefits of sharing |
|
The most obvious benefit is of course the money that you earn as the sharer or the money that you save as the recipient. However, there are additional benefits that shouldn’t be ignored and we need to be aware of them and how they add to our daily operational experiences. The sharer has the added satisfaction of having helped out another operator during their time of need in the full knowledge that the recipient will at some point in the future be in a position to return the favour. By working with the long-term & short term vessels at our disposal, we are less likely to spot charter and this in turn will reduce harbour congestion which is in the interest of us all. In addition to the above, we have to take into account our ability to reduce our carbon footprint through the sharing of vessels whenever possible and that this has far-reaching benefits for our environment and is obviously something that we should strive to improve upon on a daily basis as individuals and as a group. The average CO2 released on a single voyage to the northeast sector is 40te, cut your emissions through vessel sharing. Save Money & the Environment
