|
The Aberdeen Marine Logistics Alliance [AMLA] agreement commenced on 1st January 1996. A central part to the agreement is the Mutual Hold Harmless agreements put in place that allowed vessels to visit installations managed by other AMLA members. An operator that allows his vessel to carry cargo for another operator is called the ‘Sharer’ and the other operator is known as the ‘Recipient’. The ‘Recipient’ will pay the ‘Sharer’ based on an agreed formula thus ensuring continuity and transparency between the parties. Peterson SBS undertakes the role of Cargo Focal Point and as such are responsible for identifying sharing opportunities based on information supplied by each of the members and through telephone calls and email communications. Generally, an operator will contact the AMLA Coordinator [CFP] and advise him of the requirement, including any information that may be relevant to the share, such as time to be on location, number of lifts and when they will be available. The CFP will then refer to the information he has at hand regarding vessel locations and their planned program and identify the most suitable share based on proximity and availability. Once a share has been identified he will create an estimate and then contact the ‘Sharer’ and the ‘Recipient’ to discuss the options and hopefully come to an agreement. Once agreement has been reached, the CFP will prepare and issue a Confirmation of Share which has to be signed by both the ‘Sharer’ & ‘Recipient’ and faxed or emailed back to be held on file. In order to benefit from this service the Recipient must advice us of their requirement, conversely, the Sharer has to let us know their vessel program and availability to cover such requirements. Send us your vessel program, call us with information, email or input requirements & availability online and let us identify suitable shares and arrange them on your behalf. |
